UST defeats Adamson 3-2 in thrilling UAAP volleyball match

University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Ateneo de Manila University in their UAAP Season 87 girls' volleyball opener on Monday and followed up with a five-set win against defending champion Adamson on Wednesday.

Despite losing key players from last season, UST's rookies performed well, with Aneeza Santos leading the team to a decisive victory over Adamson with 13 points, including nine kills, two aces, and two blocks.

UST head coach Emilio 'Kung Fu' Reyes noted that while some rookie nerves were present initially, the experience gained will be beneficial as the league progresses.

Kim Rubin came through in the clutch for UST in the fifth set with back-to-back aces to claim the win, contributing three points from service and eight receptions.

UST now holds an undefeated record alongside Far Eastern University after their impressive performance against Adamson.
