UST beats Adamson 58-55 in tight women's basketball game

University of Santo Tomas (UST) edged out Adamson University in a tight women's basketball game, winning 58-55 on Sunday.

Despite shooting just 29% from the field and committing 19 turnovers, UST managed to secure the victory thanks to key plays by Kent Pastrana, who scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Pastrana's crucial steal and go-ahead layup in the final minute helped seal the win for UST, while Adamson's Cris Padilla missed a potential game-tying three-pointer.

UST coach Haydee Ong acknowledged that her team struggled with defense and offensive execution but praised their ability to make critical stops when it mattered most.

Adamson, led by Padilla's 19 points, fell to 2-1 while UST improved to 3-0 in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament.
