Adamson beats UST 69-56 in UAAP men's basketball

Adamson University defeated the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in a men's basketball game during the UAAP Season 87 tournament with a score of 69-56 on Sunday, despite initial doubts about their chances.

Matt Montebon led Adamson with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while AJ Fransman contributed a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in just 18 minutes.

Coach Nash Racela praised his team's effort, particularly their rebounding against UST, which was crucial in securing the victory with a significant advantage of 46-33.

Adamson outscored UST by a margin of 20-1 in the third quarter to turn a one-point halftime deficit into a comfortable lead.

UST's Nic Cabañero scored 16 points but struggled with shooting efficiency in the second half, limiting them to only 25.8% from the field.

Coach Racela emphasized that despite the victory, his team must remain focused and avoid complacency moving forward.
