UST wins first two matches in UAAP girls' beach volley

University of Santo Tomas (UST) kicked off its UAAP Season 86 High School Girls' Beach Volleyball Tournament title defense with a victory as Khy Progella and Cameron Grace Villaluz defeated De La Salle-Zobel's Aislinn Alemaña and Katrina Tria, 21-9, 21-12, on Saturday.

UST maintained its unbeaten record by defeating National University Nazareth School's Vilmarie Toos and Laiza Benigay with a score of 21-11, 21-11 on Sunday, securing their second consecutive win in the tournament.

Far Eastern University-Diliman (FEU-Diliman) also secured a strong start with Frenchie Premaylon and Love Lopez defeating UP Integrated School's Khloe Long and Janella Guarino, 21-11, 21-12 on Saturday, but lost to Adamson University's Shai Nitura and Fel Sagaysay in their Sunday match.

National University Nazareth School claimed its first win as Vilmarie Toos and Laiza Benigay overpowered Ateneo's Ten Quimpo and Reggie Sanchez, 21-3, 21-10 on Saturday, but lost to UST on Sunday.

FEU-Diliman leads the girls' division with a 2-1 record, tied with UST, while Adamson University also holds a strong position at 2-1, and Ateneo remains at 1-2.
