Ateneo women's volleyball secures fifth place in UAAP Season 86

Ateneo de Manila University concluded its UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball campaign with a victory over Adamson University on Wednesday morning at the Araneta Coliseum, while their women's team secured their season finale by sweeping Adamson in straight sets.

The women's team won 25-13, 25-17, and 25-21 to finish with a 5-9 record and fifth place, marking progress from the previous season under coach Sergio Veloso.

Head coach Timmy Sto. Tomas expressed mixed feelings about the men's season performance, while outgoing senior Roma Mae Doromal of the women’s team highlighted her purpose in staying for her last year.

Blue Eagle Lyann de Guzman led with 14 attack points and Sobe Buena contributed eight points, while graduating libero captain Roma Doromal had nine excellent digs and six excellent receptions.

Coach Veloso noted that despite not making it to the Final Four, the team's improvement throughout the season was a significant achievement. He also expressed hope for De Guzman’s return next season.
