UST beats UE, secures twice-to-beat chance

University of Santo Tomas (UST) secured its spot in contention for twice-to-beat bonuses in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament by defeating University of the East with a score of 25-19, 25-9, and 25-17 at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

UST libero Detdet Pepito played a key leadership role during the match, helping her team bounce back from their previous loss to Far Eastern University.

Pepito's guidance contributed to UST's victory despite committing six more errors than UE, highlighting the importance of teamwork and communication.

De La Salle University also secured a win over Ateneo de Manila University with scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-18, improving their record to 11-2.

UST head coach Kung Fu Reyes emphasized the importance of this victory for playoff positioning as they prepare for their final second-round match against La Salle on Saturday.
