La Salle's Quiambao, UST's Pastrana win UAAP Player of the Week

In the UAAP Season 87 basketball competition, La Salle Green Archers and UST Growling Tigresses started with identical 3-0 records.

Kevin Quiambao of De La Salle University (DLSU) earned the men's Player of the Week award for his outstanding performance, averaging 18.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game.

Kent Pastrana from the University of Santo Tomas won the women's Player of the Week award with averages of 16.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks.

Quiambao emphasized in Filipino that his team still has room for improvement, especially as he takes on a new leadership role, highlighting the importance of controlling what they can control.

Pastrana noted the significance of maintaining maturity and setting a positive tone on the court to live up to her status as one of the leaders, emphasizing readiness to lead by example.

Both players received unanimous votes over their competitors for their exceptional performances during the period from September 7 to 15.
