UP women's volleyball team improves to fifth place in UAAP

The University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons are performing better in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament compared to their 1-13 finish last year.

Currently at fifth place with a 3-4 record, the team is under first-year coach Carlo Cabatingan and aims for improvement in the second round following a five-game losing streak.

UP faces Ateneo on Sunday as they brace for more 'hard moments' due to injuries affecting key players like JLo delos Santos, Zel Tsunashima, and Sobe Buena.

Veterans Joan Monares, Niña Ytang, and Irah Jaboneta have been crucial in keeping the Fighting Maroons competitive throughout the first round.
