Ateneo Blue Eagles beat UE Lady Warriors in five-setter

The Ateneo Blue Eagles secured a hard-fought victory against the University of the East Lady Warriors in a five-set match at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, snapping their three-game losing streak and improving to a 2-5 record for Round 1.

Ateneo won with scores of 20-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-15, and 15-13, while extending UE's losing streak to seven games.

AC Miner led Ateneo with 23 points, six digs, and Zey Pacia contributed significantly with 17 markers, 14 digs, and 10 receptions.

Despite a close finish in the deciding set where UE narrowed the gap to one point at 14-13, Lyann de Guzman's game-winning hit sealed the victory for Ateneo.

De Guzman finished the match with 16 points, 14 receptions, and 13 digs.
