UP edges NU in five-set UAAP women's volleyball match

University of the Philippines upset National University in a five-set match (26-24, 23-25, 17-25, 25-23, 15-12) in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday, March 26.

Niña Ytang scored a career-high 30 points with 27 attacks and three blocks to lead UP to victory over defending champion National University after head coach Benson Bocboc's strategic rotations finally paid off.

National University captain Bella Belen attributed the loss to UP's strong performance, acknowledging that their lapses in game play contributed to the defeat.

Ytang credited faith, discipline, and hard work for her success while expressing the importance of team morale and unity moving forward.

UP will face University of the East in their next match on Sunday, while National University remains second with a record of 7-2.
