Adamson beats UE, Ateneo sweeps UP in UAAP men's volleyball

Adamson and Ateneo secured contrasting victories in the second round of the UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball on Saturday.

The Soaring Falcons defeated the University of the East Red Warriors in five sets, breaking their four-match losing streak with a score of 25-21, 23-25, 20-25, 25-17, and 15-12.

Ateneo swept the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in three straight sets with scores of 25-16, 25-18, and 25-21.

Mark Coguimbal led Adamson's victory with 17 points, while Jude Aguilar and Marc Kenneth Paulino also contributed significantly.

Amil Pacinio had 17 points to power Ateneo, while MVP frontrunner Kennedy Batas added 14 markers for the Blue Eagles.

UP will face National University in their next match, while UE takes on Far Eastern University.

Both Adamson and Ateneo aim to continue their winning streaks when they meet each other in the upcoming round.
