UP men's basketball dominates Ateneo 75-47 in UAAP, extends undefeated streak

The University of the Philippines men's basketball team secured a decisive 75-47 victory over Ateneo de Manila University in the UAAP Season 87 elimination round on Wednesday night.

Francis Lopez led the Fighting Maroons with a game-high 20 points and five rebounds, while Quentin Millora-Brown contributed a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.

UP overcame an initial slow start to dominate the second half with a significant 15-0 run, extending their lead to as much as 30 points.

Millora-Brown highlighted the team's unselfish play and improved execution, noting that they are addressing their previous slow starts which contributed to Ateneo's worst loss under coach Tab Baldwin.

With an undefeated record of 9-1, UP solidifies its position as a strong contender for the UAAP championship with twice-to-beat advantage, aiming to reclaim the crown after back-to-back runner-up finishes.
