Adamson wins, extends streak to three games

Adamson University secured a crucial victory over the University of the East in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament on Wednesday, winning 66-48 to extend their win streak to three games and improve their record to 8-3.

The win strengthened Adamson's hold on third place, now owning a two-game lead over Ateneo Blue Eagles and assuring National University Lady Bulldogs (9-0) a spot in the Final Four.

UP’s Kaye Pesquera nearly forced overtime with late free throws but turnovers in the final possession sealed the victory for Adamson earlier this season.

Behind another stellar outing from UP's reigning MVP, the Fighting Maroons improved to 6-5 and tightened their hold on the No. 4 spot in the league standings, now owning a two-and-a-half game cushion over UP (3-7).

The defeat also assured Adamson Lady Falcons' place in the Final Four -- the first time since Season 82 (2019) that they will make the postseason.
