DLSU rallies to beat FEU, stays atop UAAP men's basketball

De La Salle University secured a comeback victory against Far Eastern University to maintain their top position in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Mike Phillips led all scorers with 17 points and added 15 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks for De La Salle, helping them recover from a 12-point halftime deficit to secure an 58-53 win.

Despite Kevin Quiambao's struggles throughout the game, scoring only eight points on 15 missed attempts, coach Topex Robinson praised Phillips' performance in the fourth quarter as he contributed six of his team's last ten points.

De La Salle managed a significant lead with a 24-2 run in the third quarter but nearly lost it as Far Eastern erased the deficit and took a five-point advantage in the final period before rallying for the win.

The Tamaraws were led by Mo Konateh's double-double of 14 points and 27 rebounds, while Royce Alforque, Veejay Pre, and Janrey Pasaol each scored 11 points.
