Ateneo's Bahay scores 22 but disappointed with performance

Ateneo rookie Jared Bahay scored a career-high 22 points but expressed disappointment with his performance as it did not come within the team's system during their loss to La Salle in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament on Saturday, October 26.

Despite scoring efficiently from the field, Bahay emphasized that most of his points came outside of the planned strategy and acknowledged the need for improvement in leading rather than just scoring as a point guard.

Coach Tab Baldwin praised Bahay’s progress but stressed the importance of better leadership and defense to help guide the team, noting the absence of veteran players who can provide guidance.

Bahay reaffirmed his commitment to improving consistency within the team's system and expressed optimism about the Blue Eagles' chances in the tournament with four games left before the Final Four.

The Blue Eagles remain outside of the Final Four picture with a 3-7 record, tied with FEU Tamaraws and Adamson Soaring Falcons at fifth place.
