CDO village under strict quarantine after COVID-19 death

A village in Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City has been placed under strict quarantine after a resident there died of COVID-19.

The patient, identified as PH 6783 by DOH and a 69-year-old man with chronic respiratory disease, diabetes, hypertension, and benign prostatic hyperplasia, was admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center on April 15.

Health authorities are conducting extensive contact-tracing and have placed at least 16 family members of the deceased patient in quarantine.

Meanwhile, a suspected COVID-19 case from Tayasan, Negros Oriental who died early this week has tested negative for the virus.

The man was admitted to a private hospital on Sunday with co-morbidities such as cancer and diabetes and died shortly after midnight Wednesday pending laboratory test results.
