Nograles: PUMs will still be tested for COVID-19

Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian has raised concerns over the Department of Health's decision to exclude Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) from its revised classification for COVID-19 cases.

Gatchalian expressed alarm after five PUMs tested positive for the virus despite being asymptomatic and under quarantine.

In response, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles announced that PUMs will still be tested for COVID-19, going beyond WHO guidelines.

Under the new classification system, patients with mild symptoms awaiting test results are classified as 'suspect' cases, while those with inconclusive results are 'probable' cases.

Confirmed cases refer to individuals who have tested positive for the virus.
