Cebu City reports 600 COVID-19 cases

Cebu City in Central Visayas reported 600 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday, April 29.

The Department of Health in Region 7 (DOH-7) reported 75 new positive cases on Tuesday night with two being repeat tests.

Cebu City has the highest number of cases at 547, followed by Lapu-Lapu City with 32 and Mandaue City with 11.

On April 28, 72 out of 73 new cases were from Barangay Labangon in Cebu City, bringing its total to 127 cases.

Mayor Edgardo Labella called for calm on April 27 as the city's case count approached 500, attributing the rise to targeted testing in high-risk areas.
