OWWA gives PHP10K aid to stranded OFWs

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Eastern Visayas and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) has started providing PHP10,000 cash aid to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by travel bans due to the novel coronavirus.

As of February 6, OWWA had assisted 12 OFWs in Eastern Visayas with flights scheduled between February 2 and 9.

OWWA-CAR regional director Manuela Peña noted that assistance is currently limited to those stranded during the first week but preparations are being made for potential extensions of travel restrictions.
