Bello requests lifting of Taiwan travel ban for OFWs

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has requested the Department of Health (DOH) to lift the travel ban on Taiwan for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), citing safety concerns.

The DOH, which leads the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, is reviewing the ban and considering exemptions for OFWs returning to Taiwan.

Taiwanese authorities have appealed to employers to be considerate towards stranded OFWs due to delays caused by the Philippine government's travel restrictions.
