Shaina Nitura leads Adamson to upset win over NU

Shaina Nitura scored 32 points to lead Adamson University to a surprising victory over National University (NU) in women's college basketball.

Despite playing without Alyssa Solomon due to an ankle sprain, NU struggled to contain Nitura and lost the game but bounced back with a decisive win against UE Lady Red Warriors on Wednesday at PhilSports Arena.

Belen emphasized that losing one player is not an excuse for their defeat and urged her teammates to step up, which they did as rarely used Aisha Bello dropped nine points and Celine Marsh delivered seven points in the victory.

Belen said she personally knows the capabilities of her teammates and expects more from them despite being the defending champions.

Although NU remains in a strong position with a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final 4, Belen stressed the need for hunger and dominance in their upcoming games.
