Angge Poyos, Josh Ybañez named UAAP Players of the Week

Angge Poyos and Josh Ybañez were named UAAP Players of the Week for their outstanding performances in the women's and men's volleyball divisions, respectively.

Poyos led the UST Golden Tigresses to a perfect 2-0 record with impressive stats including 22 points, 10 digs, and 10 receptions in two matches, helping them secure a seven-game sweep of the first round.

Ybañez averaged 22.5 points as he helped the UST men's team recover from a three-game slide with back-to-back wins for a 4-3 record, finishing the first round strong.

Poyos emphasized the importance of motivation despite their height disadvantage and stressed that they have to improve heading into the second round.

Both players highlighted the need to maintain focus and continue improving as they head into the more challenging second round of the competition.
