PNP to maintain control points for essential travel

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will maintain control points to ensure only authorized individuals on essential travel leave their homes, despite some areas shifting to less stringent quarantine measures.

PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said they would continue to enforce public health protocols and assist local government units in implementing local health ordinances.

Banac also stated that the PNP will observe official administrative issuances from higher authorities regarding force protection and COVID-19 resiliency, as per Memorandum Circular No. 79 issued by the Office of the President.
