PNP logs 2 more COVID-19 deaths, total cases reach 3,153

As of Friday, August 21, two more police officers died from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths among Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel to 15.

The latest victims include a 45-year-old officer who passed away on August 12 and a 52-year-old officer from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao who died on Thursday.

As of Thursday night, there were 3,153 confirmed cases among PNP personnel with 55 new infections reported that day, mostly originating from the National Capital Region Police Office.

A total of 2,283 police officers have recovered from the disease while 751 probable and 2,546 suspected cases are being monitored.
