Calapan returns to MECQ after 42 police trainees test positive

Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro returned to a modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) after 42 police trainees tested positive for COVID-19.

The trainees, who were undergoing field training, had previously been placed in quarantine on August 4 and underwent PCR testing at the Philippine Red Cross molecular laboratory in Batangas City.

This new case count adds to five police trainees and one police officer who earlier acquired the virus.

The confirmed cases are confined to only one group of trainees and are now isolated at the City Treatment and Isolation Facility at the City Hall Complex.
