Cabinet assigned to monitor Metro Manila, Luzon COVID-19 hot spots

President Duterte has assigned Cabinet officials to oversee the COVID-19 response in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, including Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases issued Resolution No. 62 to further operationalize the national government's support for local governments in combating the pandemic.

This move aims to provide stronger support to cities and municipalities with high community transmission following a surge in infections that prompted stricter lockdown measures.
