Philippines Reports Record-High 22,366 New Coronavirus Cases

The Philippines reported a record-high 22,366 new coronavirus cases on Monday, August 30, bringing the total number of infections to over 1.98 million.

This marks the fifth consecutive day with more than 15,000 daily cases and is significantly higher than previous records.

The death toll increased by 222 to 33,331, while recoveries rose by 17,922 to 1.778 million.

August has seen a dramatic surge in infections, with over 387,000 cases reported so far, more than double the number of July's total.

The Philippines also announced that one day earlier on Sunday, August 29, there were 18,528 new cases and 101 deaths.
