Pangasinan logs 8 new Delta variant cases

The Pangasinan Provincial Health Office recorded eight new Delta variant cases in the province on Wednesday, September 1.

As of August 31, Pangasinan had a total of 16,266 recoveries out of 20,175 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 766 deaths and 3,143 active cases.

The surge in cases is attributed to intensified contact tracing, testing, and genome sequencing of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Pangasinan remains under modified general community quarantine until September 7, but the provincial government has requested a shift to heightened general community quarantine due to rising case numbers.
