PNP: 42% fully vaxxed, death toll hits 102

As of Thursday, Aug 26, 42% of PNP personnel are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with about 47% receiving their first dose.

The death toll among PNP personnel due to the virus rose to 102 after another officer died on Wednesday from pneumonia and acute respiratory failure secondary to COVID-19.

On Aug 25, a 34-year-old police staff sergeant assigned in Central Visayas passed away five days after being hospitalized for difficulty breathing.

The PNP also reported 165 new recoveries but logged 129 new cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of recovered personnel to 31,814 and active cases to 1,787.
