DOH detects 516 more Delta variant cases

Health authorities detected an additional 516 cases of the more transmissible Delta variant, bringing the total to 1,789.

Of these new cases, 473 are local, 31 involve returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), and 12 cases' origins remain under investigation.

Among the local cases, 114 were from Metro Manila, while other regions with significant numbers include Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Additionally, 73 cases of the Alpha variant, 81 cases of the Beta variant, and 41 cases of the P.3 variant were detected.
