DOH: 72% of ICU beds nationwide now occupied

As of September 3, 2021, around 72% of the country's over 4,000 intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients are occupied, marking it at high risk.

The ICU bed occupancy rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) is also at high risk with 70% of the 1,400 beds in use.

Ward beds for COVID-19 patients nationwide and in NCR are also considered high risk, with 71% of the 15,100 ward beds nationwide and 72% of the 4,300 ward beds in NCR occupied.

Additionally, around 56% of the country’s 3,200 mechanical ventilators are being utilized while 62% of the 1,100 mechanical ventilators in NCR are occupied.
