PNP records 35,131 COVID-19 cases, death toll rises to 106

As of Friday, September 3, the Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded a total of 35,131 COVID-19 cases with 164 new infections.

The PNP reported that 32,985 have recovered from the disease and 2,040 are still active cases.

Two more police officers died due to COVID-19 on Thursday, raising the death toll among PNP personnel to 106.

Patient 105 is a 54-year-old policeman assigned in Region 5 who succumbed to acute respiratory failure secondary to COVID-19 on August 26.

Patient 106 is a 25-year-old patrolman assigned in Region 1 who died due to difficulty in breathing and decreased oxygen levels on August 24.
