Philippines logs lowest daily cases in over a month, now at low-risk classification

The Philippines logged its lowest daily coronavirus cases in over a month with 3,218 new infections on Wednesday.

This brings the total number of active cases to 50,152, down from Tuesday's count of 53,642.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire announced that the country is now at low-risk classification for COVID-19 with a negative two-week growth rate and moderate-risk average daily attack rate.

The national health system capacity remains at a moderate risk level while six regions are under moderate-risk classifications and 11 regions are under low-risk classifications.
