PGH admits only referred and emergency COVID-19 cases

The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) clarified on Tuesday that it will only admit referred and emergency cases as a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) referral center.

PGH's COVID-19 triage is closed, meaning they no longer accept persons under investigation (PUIs).

For non-COVID patients, only those with life-threatening emergencies, pregnant women with imminent delivery, or trauma cases will be admitted.

On Monday, PGH opened as a referral center with 130 beds, accepting moderate to severe COVID-19 cases referred by other hospitals.

PGH spokesperson Dr. Jonas del Rosario stated that the hospital will not accept PUIs to maximize bed capacity for confirmed positive patients.
