PGH exceeds capacity for COVID-19 patients

More than 60 percent of COVID-19 patients admitted to Philippine General Hospital (PGH) have recovered since the first case was admitted on February 3.

As of Wednesday, PGH has admitted at least 185 cases with 123 recoveries and 33 deaths.

The hospital exceeded its capacity for COVID-19 patients, reaching 137 cases compared to the allotted 130 beds, according to a report on Tuesday.

To manage this, PGH opened an additional wing and plans to transfer recovering patients to quarantine facilities or community centers.
