Cops infected with Covid-19 now 78

As of Friday, April 24, 78 Philippine National Police (PNP) officers have tested positive for COVID-19.

The number of suspected and probable cases has risen to 580 and 96 respectively, with 12 recoveries and three deaths reported.

On Tuesday, PNP chief Gamboa announced that the total number of infected personnel was 74, with 12 recoveries and three fatalities.

Gamboa emphasized the need to prevent further increases in cases among law enforcers who are crucial for maintaining order during the pandemic.

The PNP is collaborating with the military to enforce heightened ECQ measures in areas with high infection rates.

PNP is also leading contact tracing efforts for positive, probable, and suspected COVID-19 cases across the country.
