Philippines reports 1,023 recoveries, 8,212 cases

As of Wednesday, April 29, the Philippines reported a total of 8,212 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 558 deaths and 1,023 recoveries.

The number of new infections increased by 254 on Wednesday, while recoveries rose by 48.

Since April 27, the number of daily recoveries has been consistent at around 70 cases per day.

Healthcare workers account for 1,336 confirmed cases and 29 deaths as of Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, a total of 89,021 people have been tested for COVID-19 with 88.44 percent testing negative.

The DOH explained that the difference between positive tests and reported cases is due to ongoing validation and processing.
