PhilSports Arena ready as COVID-19 quarantine center

The PhilSports Arena in Pasig City is now ready to serve as a facility for accommodating people infected with COVID-19.

A task force under the Department of Public Works and Highways converted the arena into a quarantine center that can accommodate over 100 patients.

The government's strategy to prevent the spread of COVID-19 involves locating, isolating, and curing suspected patients.

Additional patient care facilities are being constructed in Muntinlupa City (Filinvest Tent) and Pasig City (PhilSports Arena), with the latter having makeshift hospital rooms for 156 patients.

The PhilSports Arena is part of a network of 'We Heal As One Centers' across the National Capital Region, Pampanga, and Tarlac that can accommodate over 800 patients in total.
