PAGASA warns of rains, thunderstorms over Luzon, flash flood risk

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that two weather systems will bring rains over most of Luzon on Friday.

The Southwesterly Windflow is affecting western Luzon, causing scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon, potentially leading to flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rain.

Cagayan Valley will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to a Frontal System, also posing a risk of flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rainfall.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwesterly Windflow, with potential for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Visayas and Mindanao will see light to moderate wind speeds moving in a southeast to southwest direction, while coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate.
