Over 2,000 passengers stranded in Bicol ports due to Paeng

As Tropical Storm Paeng continues to affect the Philippines, over 2,000 passengers are stranded in Bicol ports with additional evacuations and travel disruptions reported.

The Office of Civil Defense in Bicol reports that 788 people are stranded along the Maharlika Highway leading to Matnog port in Sorsogon, while 645 rolling cargoes and 46 fishing vessels are also affected.

Sorsogon Governor Jose Edwin Hamor has ordered food services for the stranded passengers, and the Philippine Coast Guard reports that 989 passengers, drivers, and cargo helpers are stranded across Bicol and Eastern Visayas ports.

Pagasa has issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 for six areas and No. 1 for seventeen others in response to Paeng's intensity.
