Marcos concerned over high Paeng death toll in Maguindanao

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed concern over the high death toll from Severe Tropical Storm Paeng in Maguindanao province.

The initial reported death toll was 67, but this was later corrected to 40 with more than a dozen people still missing.

Marcos questioned why residents were not immediately evacuated and asked for an explanation on the lack of warning about the severity of the flooding.

He also offered condolences to victims' families and assured that the government is ready to help those affected by the storm.
