Albay, Catanduanes under state of calamity after Paeng

Albay and Catanduanes are now under a state of calamity due to the damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

On Monday, the Office of Civil Defense-5 confirmed that Albay Governor Noel Rosal declared a state of calamity in Albay after the provincial board passed Resolution No. 0169.

The declaration allows local government units to use funds during disasters and was made on Saturday when Severe Tropical Storm Paeng dumped heavy rains, prompting the evacuation of nearly 80,000 residents across Bicol.
