OCTA calls for stricter NCR quarantine amid COVID-19 surge

OCTA Research called for stricter quarantine measures in NCR on Thursday due to an uptick in COVID-19 cases and the possibility of the more contagious Delta variant being the cause.

The group noted a 27% increase in daily cases from the previous week, with the reproduction number rising to 1.15.

OCTA urged the government to ramp up testing and contact tracing efforts and recommended proactive measures such as regional lockdowns.

As of Thursday, there were 47 confirmed local Delta variant cases, including 12 new ones reported by DOH.
