NEDA: March-April ECQ experience to guide Delta variant response

The government's experience in March and April when it placed Metro Manila and nearby provinces under ECQ can guide its response to the Delta variant threat.

Socio-economic Planning Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua said risks from the Delta variant are higher, while Presidential Adviser Joey Concepcion and business leaders support a two-week 'circuit-breaker' lockdown in NCR proposed by OCTA Research group.

OCTA recommends early and strict action as NCR records almost 1,000 daily cases with a reproduction number of 1.33, indicating continuous virus transmission.
