Metro Manila curfew extended to 10 pm-4 am starting July 25

Starting Sunday, July 25, the Metro Manila Council has reimposed longer curfew hours in the National Capital Region from 10 pm to 4 am.

The decision came after the national government placed stricter restrictions on the capital region due to a spike in COVID-19 cases and the confirmation of local transmission of the Delta variant.

MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos stated that the highly contagious Delta variant, with an R Naught (R0) of 5 to 8, could trigger exponential surges in densely populated areas like Metro Manila, necessitating stricter measures to control its spread.
