Metro mayors propose 2-week ECQ due to Delta variant

Metro Manila mayors are proposing a two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to concerns about the Delta variant.

The proposal will be discussed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) on Thursday.

Health Secretary Duque said that Metro Manila's current general community quarantine with heightened restrictions could still change based on local government appeals and metrics reviewed by IATF.
