Davao tops list of high-risk areas with most new COVID-19 cases

Davao City topped OCTA Research's list of cities outside the National Capital Region with the highest number of new daily COVID-19 cases from June 29 to July 5.

The city recorded an average of 303 new cases per day and had a very high ICU utilization rate of 90%.

OCTA also classified Davao City as a high-risk area for COVID-19 due to its reproduction number of 1.23, indicating sustained transmission.

Other cities in the high-risk category include Bacolod, Iloilo, General Santos, Baguio, and Tagum.
