Philippines Reports Over 5,000 New COVID-19 Cases; Active Tally and Recoveries Update

The Philippines reported 5,881 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total tally to 1,461,455.

Active cases increased to 51,902 with recoveries climbing to 1,383,833 and deaths rising to 25,720 due to 70 new fatalities.

On Thursday, the country logged 5,484 new cases leading to a total of 1,455,585 infections with recoveries reaching 1,380,899.

Active cases dropped slightly from 51,594 on July 5th to 49,613 on Tuesday due to 4,114 new cases and a decline in active cases.

The recovery rate remains high at around 94-95%, while ICU bed usage is at 57% nationally with ventilator occupancy at 36%.
