National U beats UP in UAAP women's volleyball

National University defeated University of the Philippines in a closely contested match during the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday.

Vange Alinsug led National University with 24 points, while Bella Belen contributed 21 points and emphasized that the team was still processing its recent loss to La Salle.

Belen noted that overcoming their slow start against UP was challenging but stressed the importance of regaining focus after their previous setback.

University of the Philippines put up a strong fight with Pling Baclay leading the way, but ultimately fell short in a match marked by National University's 15 errors and season-high 31 unforced mistakes.

National University will face University of Santo Tomas on Sunday to avenge an earlier loss and maintain their title aspirations for the remainder of the tournament.
