National University sweeps De La Salle in women's volleyball finals

National University retained their lead over De La Salle University in the Season 87 Finals Game 2 by sweeping them with scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-19 on Wednesday evening at the Mall of Asia Arena.

This victory marks National University's third women's volleyball championship in the last four seasons, bringing their total to five overall.

The win caps off a successful career for Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon, who will depart with three Most Valuable Player awards and multiple championships each.

Reflecting on her achievement, Solomon emphasized the importance of hard work and perseverance in achieving their goals, noting that NU's culture played a significant role in her growth and success.

National University ended a 65-year championship drought in women's volleyball back in UAAP Season 84, and with Belen and Solomon leaving, questions arise about NU's ability to defend its throne next season.

Coach Sherwin Meneses expressed optimism that the team will continue to succeed in the future with a new roster led by Vange Alinsug, Shaira Jardio, Lams Lamina, Alexa Mata, Arah Panique, and others who are ready to take on the challenge.
